Hanging with other bad assets: This time. Jim I

Howdy boys:

It's always a fun time when we get to meet fellow badasses. As it turns out, Jim Ivler had to be on cape, so we met up in a restaurant around the corner from where he was staying. It was a good choice of restaurants, because all the lunch crowd was 75+... so these two 60 somethings felt like teenagers!

A great afternoon ensued: shooting the sh!t about basses, amps, fun gigs and nightmare gigs. As well as our kids, our former careers, etc. Some local brews, decent food... All around a nice hang! I met Jim's lovely wife. She dropped Jim off at the restaurant (my wife knew better than to come along for a couple of bass players getting together) and i asked her if she'd like to have lunch with us. She is an excellent diplomat but clearly , she knew that it would be better to let the boys be boys!

So.... here's to you Jim I: [smilie=food-smiley-004.gif] ...... I'll catch you on your coast sometime!

Thanks boys, just home from cross-country Amtrak. Likewise Karl it was great to meet up in person, finally - though it felt like we became friends long ago via BABP. So on a topic just as important as basses and gear, what was the name of that excellent beer we both enjoyed? I forgot, but of course being an Olde Farte i have an excuse...

You’re asking ME to remember?

It was either Hog Island, made in Orleans, Ma. Or Devil’s Purse, From Dennis Ma. Both are tasty local micro brews

Jim is top notch. I have had many trades and hangs and we always have a good time.

Glad to read more stories like this, especially when I had wrongly assumed the site was down because I had an old URL to the new posts and it was not translated when we moved. my bad. Pete set me straight.
