Mine is Toots. More specifically "Toots In Memphis". Even more specifically the track "Freedom Train".

What's yours?
I don't know and I don't care,
'Cause I don't wear Tonto's underwear.

CDs?

David Sanborn's "Straight to the Heart" or Steely Dan's "Aja".
Both still take me back to happy times.

There are times though when Alice in Chain's "Jar of Flies" suits the mood like a musical beer.

Kinda Blue ... When I'm stale I go back there and start again... Take a linear trip from there through Montgomery and Benson and by then I'm usually back and musical... Frequent stops with Gerry Mulligan, Flora, Airto, Chick (pre Dimeola), Keith Jarrett, Dexter Gordon... Somehow it all makes more sense to me after I listen to that stuff. Takes a couple of months but it always works for me... And no, I'm not stupid enough to think I can play that stuff. ... This is ear based training / brainwashing ;-)
I used to look at my dog Smokey and think, "If you were a little smarter, you could tell me what you're thinking," and he'd look back at me like he was saying, "If you were a little smarter, I wouldn't have to." - Fred Jungclaus

I DVR’d Simon and Garfunkel’s "Concert in Central Park" when it aired this summer on PBS. Watched it a bunch of times since; one beautiful song after another.

Whew boy, that was fun :) Excellent trip down memory lane. I enjoy these songs as much now as I did 15 years ago. They still inspire and calm the wicked soul [smilie=food-smiley-004.gif]

Links: Yanno, you live a very short time and then you spend a very long time dead so eat great food, love extra hard, hold on for the ride, and play some bass along the way.
