Well, now I'm intrigued...

What kind of music will this band do, and how many people in it? (I had to name a band recently, and the number of people figured in the final name choice).

How about "Bruce and the Gear Sluts" ? Just brainstormin' for ya...

One band is an instrumental ska thing. (Tunes are recorded on an iPhone 5 sitting on top of the bass amp in a tiney basement. Not too bad, IMO! Keys could be louder, though.) I'm trying to come up with a band name that doesn't have "Ska" in the title. But having said that, I came up with Ska-Licious. Also came up with The Lo-Fi's. Or The Swing Easy's. The Lo-Fi's 'cause real ska/rock steady is pretty lo-fi. The Swing Easy's 'cause Swing Easy is a ska/rock steady standard. Great rhythm, btw.

The other thing is a standard cover band with killer female vocalist and two other middle aged musicians. Quite a talented group, if I do say so myself. The guitard and singer have a duo named Mama Drama. The drummer and myself may come on board when they want a rhythm section. We have a nice paying gig at the end of this month and hopefully things will pan out. Anyway, since the duo is established as Mama Drama, I was thinking, when we're a full band, doing something like Mama Drama and The Second Cousins, or Mama Drama and The Uncles. Or I like Mama Drama and The Kidults. That way we could be Mama Drama and The Kidults with the female vox, The Kidults w/out the female vox, or the duo stays as Mama Drama w/out the rhythm section. Geeee-nius, no? [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

I do too, Jerry. Only hit on Google was a blues group in the Hudson Valley area of New York State.. That and a group from Japan. We aren't trying to be famous, so I can't imagine there being any issues with using the same name.

Well The OxyContinentals has been done so we're all vying for second place... I happen to live in SKAmania County Washington... That there isn't a band here named the Skamaniacs eludes me...

Had to break out some Specials to get into the mood. Anyhow this is what I came up with.

The Dub plate gangsters
The Dek-tones
The Cincinnati Hotbox
Kingston T-phonics

Links: Yanno, you live a very short time and then you spend a very long time dead so eat great food, love extra hard, hold on for the ride, and play some bass along the way.

I have to chime in here. This is my favorite "go-to" band name whenever someone asks for band name suggestions:
