The Times They Are A-Changin'....

Or should I be concerned??

Sold my little GK stack. In the process of packing it up this morning while The Wife was out running errrands I freakin' tweaked my back. (Not biggie. But I did something.) TW comes home and sees the packed boxes and says "Whatcha got there??" I tell her they need to be shipped. She sees me hobling a little and says "Your back?" And I say "Yeah. But not bad." Then she offers, and proceeds to, carry my two packed boxes to the car! All by herself. And then we drive to the local FedEx and we go in together and they get processed. And she doesn't bat an eye. Not one word. She seemed perfectly fine to help me.

So what is it: Times A'Changin' or Cause For Concern??

That's called being partners. It's what we do.

I'm 66 and at 62 I had hernia repaired. The medical team says I
was OK to return to work after 30 days, working in a mail room.
Mail, especially in quantity, and including TVs and small fridges
[University mail room] can be waaaaay heavy.

The 30 days-to-OK document from the medidudes is not for my
benefit, not beneficial or wise advice FOR ME. It's simply a ruse
that covers the employer's ass when I return to work "too soon".

Too soon by my standards, but it minimizes benefit costs ! So,
natcherly, I quit. My own self-imposed limits consist of no gear
weighing over 40 lb, and most gear to be kept down to about
30 lb ... so a single 40 lb item is the occasional exception, to
be lugged carefully and only seldom.

Mssr Mom .... for years, I'm fairly sure, some folks have told
you to "grow up". OK. Now I'm telling you to "grow old" .... or
at least "older", gracefully and cautiously.

I do feel the teamwork sentiment (wife's cooking dinner right now) but my suspicion is that she was silently thinking to herself "Finally I'm getting rid of this ugly thing". [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

Links: Yanno, you live a very short time and then you spend a very long time dead so eat great food, love extra hard, hold on for the ride, and play some bass along the way.
