Jazz Fest 2018

Postby hmagman » Sat Oct 14, 2017 11:21 am

My wife and I are planning to attend Jazz Fest next year... [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]

Any recommendations on what to see in New Orleans? Any Jazz Fest strategies?

Sounds like a fun road trip.

As a side note:
Is anyone else blown away that we're making plans 2018 already?

Get a copy of Offbeat Magazine and check club listings or better yet check them online: http://www.offbeat.com

Listen to www.wwoz.org at 90.7 when you get to town and check out who is playing where. Listings are on the website as well. There is a Livewire phone app as well with all the listings.

Personally, I prefer the uptown clubs: Tipatinas, Maple Leaf, Mid-City Lanes Rock 'n' Bowl. You can catch the streetcar going uptown.

A lot of the good bands love to play around town during Fest. Pace yourself and hydrate!

On a side note to Harry, my daughter and son-in-law are heading back to SD next year. We will have to get together when I visit.

Must see club show - at DBA on Frenchman St - Walter Wolfman Washington & The Roadmasters and the Iguanas on the Wednesday night between weekends. I never miss this show when I'm at Jazzfest.
