Ernie Ball Super Slinky's (usually), but I'm currently running Dean Markley Rocco's on my "Duck" (round core).

Like 'em both.

frankly no real preference. i did use elixirs for some time and really loved them - smooth touch, broken-in tone and long life. when the time came to rebuy some, i looked at the price tag again and thought well that's a bit too much right now. have stayed with standard roundwounds ever since.

Decided to try out some S.I.T. Power Wounds (Lights: 45/65/80/100) for my P-Bass...the best fit so far.

Nice, well-rounded tone. Again, just for my P-Bass...I wouldn't say "all-purpose".

YMMV.

My latest find: http://www.bassemporium.com/bass_empori ... %20Strings

got the 45-105 nickel's and I think I fell in love. Perfect tension to me, huge tone but still balanced and warm all over the neck.

and well they sound good on a 66 J [smilie=cool-smiley-031.gif]

NICKEL-Rounds are good. I used to use only flats, but have been using Markley Nickel rounds which came on a Lakland Skyline 44-02 for a Rock project.
(I couldn't see Cheap Sunglasses with flats)
Suprisingly, I like them. Also like DR Nickel Lo-Riders and have a set of Nickel Dunlops I am anxious to try.

I play a P-bass...rosewood board, alder body. I love Rotosound Swingbass 66s on my P-bass more than any other string and I've tried a ton of different strings over the years. A fairly close 2nd would be the S.I.T. Power Wounds. Both of these strings give me a nice midrangey vibe that isn't too harsh on top. I've had T.I. Jazz Flats on my fretless for a long time and that works.

45-105 nickels....... usually DR

love-em.........

My favorite acoustic guitar strings are Jon Pearse..... so I noticed that Pearse now sells a nickel wound bass string and Juststrings.com had them for cheep (like 15 bucks) so i bought a couple of sets........great sound and reasonably flexible. i have em on the blue dali bass and they're excellent sounding strings for cheep money. They're no DR, but good for the money
