What Is It?

Postby ampig » Wed Dec 09, 2009 10:37 am

I recently put a set of Ken Smith Compressors on my P bass. Now when the E String is played open it has a ringey bell like quality instaed of a meaty low thump. I've used these same strings before on many basses and never had this problem. Has anyone had this same issue?

I have had a weird issue like that before when the string was twisted.

Turns out it was my bad, trying to save time putting it on by winding it around the tuner by hand instead of using the tuner.

Try taking it off then putting it back on and being careful not to twist it.

One way is before it gets to tension let the ball reset at that end to release any twisting that might have heppened from the winding.
