Old...like me. Actually, I've noticed that my hands don't sweat a lot anymore, so I'm not real hard on strings. Whenever I change to a new set of strings, I usually really like the sound of them, but it's not long before that new string sonic edge wears off.

I like them old- if I like them. If not they don't get a chance to be very old- but I like to stop noticing the strings and just play, making the sounds I like. When that happens it's golden. I've got a set of TI Jazz Flats on a Squier I put together with some help from folks here, and that's a fixture now. The day I change those will be a benchmark, I imagine.
