Anyone have any tips for taking care of your finger tip callous?

I try to not get my fingers wet if I can help it.
If I get stuck washing dishes to keep the wife happy, I wear gloves.

If they split, super glue gets me thru a gig.

If they get soft, and you have a gig, is there anything you do to harden them?

If you want to dry your callouses out and harden them, methylated spirit works well.

So, I have been playing a bunch of gigs lately on the upright bass and have went thru a few layers of skin getting my fingers up to snuff. I forgot that last NAMM show I picked up some shwag from these cats;

http://rock-tips.com

I used it at last weeks gig and it was great, I had an open blister on my plucking hand and it worked better than super glue to seal my tips up and prevent another bloody bass mess.

It actually is super glue but "flexible" so it doesn't end up making your finger tips super hard.

Anyway, just thought I would pass this info along in case anyone needs something like this.
