Favorite drum tone

If your drummer, or a drummer of your prference could sound like the drummer of your choice, who would it be? I don't mean playing like the drummer of your choice, I'm talking tone of his drums, presence, tuning etc..

Just like John Bonham on LZII and LZIII, but with Charlie Watts' snare tone from Black & Blue.

I really like the drum tone of Michael Tarvis. He used to play with a half and half Hand/Stick set up. With percussion on one side and a regular kit on the other.

it Sounded great and he was fun to watch. I think he plays a regular kit now though.

Rockenfield is a great choice. Mine would be Carmen Appice's sound from the Blue Murder CD

Mmmm....depends on the style and format of players. [smilie=coz.gif] IMHO every situation dictates a different tone, feel and style.....and I wouldn't be able to separate the style from the tone. YMMV

There is nothing wrong with Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, Alan Parson's influence? [smilie=cool-smiley-031.gif]

Billy Cobhams tone would be welcome in any rock or jazz band.
