Interesting with the split coil.....kinda stacked P bass pups. Anybody try 'em?

Model J has always been a fave/ go-to pickup for Jazz Basses. I've always hard-wired them in series, and they give up a great rock tone. Maybe not supa-scoopy Marcus, but how often do you solo, right? I want to drive the bus, and Model J's do that really well. I did have my old 77 rigged with a series/ parralel switch, but it seemed to stay in the series position all the time.
