Hey, I just got me an EH Micro Synth...interested in a trade? [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

Seriously, that's a VERY nice bass. Every Roscoe bass that I have tried in my lifetime played and sounded great. Seven years ago, I came THIS close to buying a Roscoe 6 string unlined fretless with a purple-stained quilted maple top. "Ralph" came home with me instead (my Modulus Quantum 6). But the memory of that sweet-playing Roscoe still remains with me to this day.

Well, it is a used bass. Less than a year old though and less than half price. [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]

If it is close to the quality of my LG3000 that I just sold to pay for it, I will be stoked. That bass was alive.

Can't beat that! I think the actual cost is around $3,700? MSRP around 5K. I always wanted a Roscoe.

Sadly, this was too much bass for me. I have another 6 string that I have been playing for a while and I thought this might be a nice upgrade. Unfortunetly, the 18.3 mm string spacing was causing me some pain.

This unit just got shipped to NY. I was able to sell it for about what I paid, so no losses at least. I am using the cash to put some new pickups in my other 6er and I am having a local luthier build me a smaller 6er to my spec.

Here is a preview of the body:

18.3mm spacing at the bridge? if so what is it at the nut?

Hard to say since I just shipped it off. But the left hand was not the problem. I play finger style (think classical guitar) and it was too much of a stretch for my right hand. I also use the floating thumb technique for some stuff, but mostly I use the classical style (thumb picking and finger rolls)

This is why I had to get rid of my Modulus Q5s. 35" scale and 19mm on those.

I have a Rondo 6 string bass, a Douglas, which has 16mm spacing, and 34" scale and I play it all the time, no pain or issues. I plan on dumping in some Nordy pickups from Wymore guitars. (thanks John!)

The new bass will have 16mm spacing and 33" scale. It will basically be like a Turner Renaissance, with piezos and TI acousticores.

I have a fretless 6er I got from Rondo (Brice) I play that all the time as well. Eventually I'll put some better pickups and electronics in it. It's a pretty wide fretboard but very manageable.
