Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass® V Ash (5-String)

Postby BigMike50L » Fri May 26, 2006 1:45 pm

Anyone have one or played one? I was never really a fender guy, mainly because ima 5 stringer. But I've always loved the tone, especially the P J set up. When I saw this bass online, I freaked. Ove course it'll be hard to find one to play.
Chances are, you owe James Jamerson money.

They are fantastic. The American Deluxe 5's are my favorite Fenders on the market right now. Great players, sound fantastic and very sexy.

i've got the alder version. really lightweight. i like the bass a lot but there's one definite downturn: the electronics are a bit crap and on the cheap side. i've never gotten round to getting them replaced but if i start gigging again i'd need to get them completely overhauled:
- the midrange pot has a bad contact
- the jack craps out on me every 4-5 times
so... would i buy it again? definite yes. the p tone on a 5er is just a cool thang to have.
