I have always liked Yamaha basses. I've shied away from the TRB's since they have been 35" scale for some time. I've been playing my Ergo EUB a lot and I guess my left hand is getting used to the stretch. I played one of the new Korean TRB1005's at GC for a while the other day. I really liked it. At $799 it's a deal. I got an even better deal online with 10% off and a case thrown in. I'll have it soon.

I have liked Yamaha basses since the 80s. Those 5er TRBs are very underated basses. The low end is to die for IMHO.

I played a gig with it yesterday. Ergonomically it's just about perfect. The string spacing is wide, but not too wide. It weighs 9 lbs. It could be lighter, but otherwise it's about perfect. This might be one of the best basses you can get under 1K.

Great looking bass...Congrats!

Now you got me wanting one, since I was looking for another 5-string with soap bars recently. Gotta try one, GC has them?

They have three of them at the local GC.

Harry, the La Mesa GC had some a while back. You should go try the Carvin Icons too if you want soapbars. I like 'em.
