I'm happy with my Lakland. While sounding like a '65 might be subjective... I don't know if i could actually identify a '65 from a 70s from a MIM is I tried.... it does sound much like my Bob Glaub and it sounds pretty P-ish to me. The 35" scale is gonna change it some but to me it passes well enough to fill any of my P slots. It definitely does not sound like my '66 but a lot of other '66s don't sound like my '66. I'm bias too because I wanted the same neck as my 55-94 on a P looking 5 string.

I liked my LPB Mike Lull P5 so much that I just had to order another P5 from Lull :)

This time I've made a custom order: 34" scale, see-through blue on ash, maple fingerboard, Nordstrand NP5 pickup. (I went ash/maple this time to make it sound closer to my "reference" '74 P-bass)

Despite the shorter scale, the B-string sounds excellent: even and punchy. PLUS the "G" and "D" string sound much closer to "real" Precision than on my other 35" basses.

And it weights... wait... really?.. less than 8 lbs (~7.6)(given that I specifically asked for non-chambered body)

This bass is simply adorable :)

Nice! Every Lull I've ever played has been killer too.
