What is it about G&L maple necks that get me hotter than a coon dog in a laundromat?
I don't know and I don't care,

How did these Alder bodied L1K's sound compared to the older Ash ones? I'm thinking of ordering one and can't decide on Alder or Ash.

I had two of the BABP LE#3s - first was CAR/alder with a #8 neck, rw board. The neck was a little thin for me and I didn't really like the sound of the bass. I picked up a really nice trans black over ash LE#3 from ghiadub that had a #7 neck with rw board, it sounded really great. I also prefer ash bodies on my L-2000s as well, so keep that in mind. Alder is standard - no upcharge, ash is an upcharge.

I believe all the bodies were Alder on that limited run. There's a post on the first page by Matt (Flash) that Alder was going to be used no matter which color you chose.

As far as necks, I prefer the chunky #5. [smilie=icon_biggrin.gif]
