Fullerplast - originated as boat primer
color coats were initially car paint but were reformulated when clear coats came into play
clear coats im almost certain were guitar formulated

NEVER use silicone products
btw - my fave wax to use is Classic Car Wax - its old school... Remember pros only

i work at a autobody supply jobber* and i have to 2nd kebo's post, auto products are for experienced refinishers, don't mix church and state, use your personal favorite brand of guitar polish, just don't go crazy !! like i stated, better to do it a few times lightly then to go gung ho and ruin the finish.
