Frets dressed and leveled, Yeah!

I've got this Peavey Grind 5, 24-fret neck-thru. Bottom of their totem pole, but it felt and sounded right. I got it used and decided it was a keeper so I had a pro do a fret job and set up. What a difference! Smooth and fast all the way up the neck. If it were a better bass to start with this kind of work might not have had as much impact, but there was enough quality to start with so the improvements just ratcheted the whole bass up a notch.

With the price of the fretwork and the re-wiring I've done myself, I'm still at or just under the street price of the bass. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

So I'm just here to hoot about how much a good fret dressing can make on a decent down-market bass.

It's easy to forget what can make the difference sometimes.
