Transformer Rewinding Service.

Postby randall » Wed Sep 14, 2011 3:11 pm

I just had the power transformer for my '65 B-15N rewound by a guy here in Maine. And he did a fantastic job getting the transformer out of the square can , rewinding it, and then re-potting it. He even shot a light coat of matte black over it. $200 shipped both ways. Replacements can be bought for a bit more, but I wanted to stay with original USA steel. He also will fully test any transformer for $30. I am very pleased.

I recently came into possession of 2 vintage Macintosh C-60 mono-blocks, and one of them has an intermittent transformer. I may contact him and find out what the rate is for a big job like this!
