Bridge Alignment (Geetar Question)

Postby ampig » Mon Jan 07, 2013 1:22 pm

Even though it's a geetar thing, I thought I'd ask here anyway. I recently bought an American Standard Teleoff Ebay and I've noticed that the bridge plate is not installed true. It's off square from with the neck heel by about 1/8" side to side. It's the 3 mountimg screw style. I'm thinking of buying a standard 4 mounting hole bridge plate in hopes that the different hole pattern will enable me to install it in proper alignment. I'm thinking that the extra holes in the body might lessen it's future value somewhat but hopefully not by much.
Has anyone got a better suggestion?
Howard

Plug the holes with the same wood, and it shouldn't devalue it by much, especially if it is not vintage.
