Yeah Mike. I have a Joseph Weiss carved bass. I got it from my friend at Chuckk Levin's in DC. It is a real nice playing bass. Sounds huge and I am running it with a David Gage Realist Pup. I am running it through my Eden WT400 and an Eden 112XLT. I will put up some pics as soon as I get a new camera.

Just thought I'd saw hi folks.

My name is Mike and I play upright in a couple of bands. A rockabilly band called The Wastewheelers, Johnny Combs a tribute to Johnny Cash, and Twisted Wood, an acoustic progressive rock band.

Howdy folks. Just thought I'd finally register after lurking awhile...

I recently aquired an upright and it's been quite interesting trying to make the adjustment, playing-wise and gear-wise, (to say the least)!

Thanks guys! Been kinda forum hopping since the big blowup... Nice place you have here, Pete!

Mike- To make a long story short, I have installed a K&K Bassmax piezo, and just ordered a Fishman Pro Platinum preamp, and from everything I've read that should do the trick on that side of things. I also have a Golden Bullet mic, but that mic needs a special preamp but I've abandoned the idea of blending in a mike since we play pretty loud and I understand they are prone to feedback.

Amp-wise I've got a late 70's SVT and 8x10, and a '67 Sunn 200S with the matching 2x15 cab. I love them both, but my plan is to get an Avatar 2x10 NEO cab (or two) that I'll power with the Sunn for upright gigs.

Any advice, comments, criticism, encouragement, suggestions, etc, on this plan would be appreciated.

Our drummer's wife is having a baby any minute, so I'm using the downtime trying to make the switch to upright as I really love it and I think it will fit our music perfectly! There are a few songs up at our myspace page: Slack Jawed SOB's

Hey Mike remember me?

Hey man, I was in Korea when we started chatting bass on this forum. Then I was back in Columbus and caught a show of yours at that steak place. And then you recommended a guy that I think is still filling my shoes in a wedding band that I used to play in. I'm in Iraq now, if you get a minute check out my Iraq tour post under the gigs board.

Just thought I'd stop by and say hello and see how things are going. I'm going to try and get a picture of myself in my badassbassplayer shirt at sadam's old palace. That would be cool. Later on man.
