Mike, for amplification, I'm just using my standard rig with an A/B box with my electric. It's definitely not optimal for URB (An Ampeg SVT6 pro with a Sadowsky SA410 cab), but it's workable. On most of my band's gigs, I play the WAV for about 5 songs out of the entire night and I don't have the fundage, or necessarily even the interest, in setting up two different amps. I did a lot of reading and research and was advised the WAV was MUCH better with an outboard preamp, so I got one of the little K and K belt clip ones, but I found it was a struggle to keep the gain where it wasn't feeding back, so I just use it without a preamp. The single biggest difference in the bass came when I took off the stock NS strings and put on a set of Obligatos. That improved the tone by a great deal, even without the preamp.
