WTB Moderately priced 5 string

Hey guys - working on a current project where we're dropping keys of tunes often, and I'm thinking it would sound better if I had a fiver ... if anyone has an inexpensive 5 that they are considering letting go, please let me know. Can't drop a lot of cash into this, but thought I'd see what's what.

I have a four that is set up with the lower 4 strings of a 5 string set, tuned BEAD for this same purpose. You might try that, you might not even have to cut the nut.

Heh, beat me to it.
I was gonna say stringing one BEAD is the cheapest "5 string" I've found.

I hate to send you "over there", but these things absolutely kill for the price, and the owner has done some very nice mods/set-up. He is asking $300 and the only glaring flaw is he doesn't have knobs that fit. I have played more than one from this series, and they are solid/stable as anything I've checked out int the price range. With the new pups and fine tuning his price is fair, but you might be able to haggle a bit. I bet it doesn't last long, and it might be exactly what you are looking for. Seller has 100% feedback through 68 transactions. I'd even be intermediary if you'd rather not deal with TB.
