G&L Bass Intonation Screw and Spring

Postby Dean » Tue Jun 10, 2014 8:57 am

I need one intonation screw with spring for my 1996 L1500 bass. G&L sells the entire set of bridge saddles with the screws and springs on their web site, but I need only one screw with spring. Any help here would be most appreciated.

Do you know the size and thread count?
You can find out at Home Depot or Lowes with a sample.

I have a screw and spring in place that work, though they are not the original size parts.

Generally speaking ..... such a screw will not be found at typical
retailers like those. True, you can use their facility to determine
the threads and the pitch, but the skinnier the screw the shorter
the in-stock screws will be. IOW, long-but-skinny screws tend to
be "specialty" fasteners. Saddle intonation screws and also those
long thin PU screws are usually not replacable at retail hardware
suppliers, even by special order.

New basses are red. Used basses are black.

Agreed. That was all I meant . . . just to size it.
There is an awesome surplus store here in Orlando that has all kinds of space coast parts.
I found screws for an old Hagstrom bridge there etc. Going Saturday so thought I'd check.
