Slab....

Older is better here. If Kebo has to explain, you wouldn't understand.

Thanks, guys. It is a little humbling to be playing something so beautiful and so early in Fender's history. I keep wondering how many gigs it's seen in it's years.....

Thanks, Kevin. I really appreciate your help on that. You really rock.... [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif] (To bring the rest of you up to speed, I called Kevin in a panic the morning after I saw this axe. It looked right and played great, but I wasn't sure of a couple of things, including the price tag. Given that is was a well-known dealer out here in LA, it was a bit of a stretch of the ettiqette to ask like that but I had nobody else who knew as much about these as Kev does.....)

And Norm was great. No big PITA, no 'tude. Just, "Here, try this..." and, "Yeah, I could knock a few bucks off that...."

Kev, your buddy George E from Oregon has been chatting with me via email about this. He seems like another great guy and a fountain of slab-knowledge.

OUR buddy. Geo is a member here [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

No one gets as excited as he does about early P's [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

I thought he might be a member here. wasn't sure.

I gotta say that I've had the single-coil envy for a while, since KeBo had that Tom Murphy refin about a year ago.

Man is that the 3-13-53 bass? If so that's the one I've been gasin' for forever. Nice score.

Nope, I have just been seeing it online for awhile. The price tag is one of those ones that leads me to believe the seller doesn't actually want to sell it. The same guy has had it for sale for as long as I can remember. I think Kevin might know which one I'm talking about.

I just did a search and can't find it now. [smilie=tosser.gif]
Doesn't matter, I'd have to sell my whole arsenal to pick it up anyway.
