Fender P cavity route question

Older is better here. If Kebo has to explain, you wouldn't understand.

Fender P cavity route question

Postby dukeplaysbass » Sat Jul 31, 2010 11:45 am

I've looked around for this info, but can't seem to dig it up anywhere. When did Fender start to do a diagonal route from the control cavity to the pickup cavity for the wiring instead of drilling and passing the wires through the hole?

IIRC, the tunnel to trench happened in 73.

Yeah it was around late 73. I've defintely seen early 73's with the original wiring hole, but about the same time as the finger rest location change, so did the wiring channel.
