68 Tele bass

Older is better here. If Kebo has to explain, you wouldn't understand.

Hell Howard it is 43 years old! If you use it for 10 more a cleaned up neck repair will not be a concern. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

For the record y'all notice I was the first to suggest he trade it to me. [smilie=cool-smiley-031.gif] Dibs..... besides that's a New Orleans vibe all over that thing. Just bring it with you Jazz Fest.

The "story" is that this was a Nashville Studio bass in the late sixties through the seventies and the headstock break actually happened in the studio.
I'm hoping to do French Quarter Fest instaed of Jazzfest this year. Might be a little easier on the budget.

Of course, but I just like to cast a wide net....I just wanted Howard to know that if he brought this into the club, that he would have no trouble cutting it loose amongst all of the fishes. Glad you grabbed it, Howard...!

Hey Guys - I was out of the pocket for a few..

My 4695.00 Tele bass is crazy stupid clean - like 9.5cond clean
I've never seen a broken neck on a Tele... A run of the mill tele is 3700-4000. Fenders with repaired necks are slow, much slower than repaired gibsons.. With that said, a refin Tele is about 2500-2700 which is where I would value this bass at. BTW, I couldnt open the pix... Also - Telebucker bass values have no relevance on a single coil telebass price...

Thanks Kebo. Apparently Village Photos is down again, so no pics right now. The headstock has been repaired. Apparently the bass fell in the studio and split the headstock between the tuners. Hopefully the pics will be back up soon.

Think of it this way - if you buy the bass and hate it, I'll give you what you paid for it!
