My .02 on 2013

Older is better here. If Kebo has to explain, you wouldn't understand.

My .02 on 2013

Postby Kevin Probass Borden » Mon Dec 16, 2013 10:35 am

Vintage in bassland was "different" in 2013 A few notible items
* BIG AMPS including cabs were HOT
* Rickenbackers - Retail pricing was down 20-25% and sales were down by 40%
* Musicmans - SABRES became a hot ticket. SOME vintage Stingrays are closely priced to some of the newer models in the upper teens and prices are down 20-25%
* Gibsons - Tbirds came down (wow) but the rest of the line has gone up 25%
* Fenders - rebounded heavily! 1 of every 4 basses we sell is a P, 1 of every 4.5 is a J - All vintages to new, Fenders are back! As long as you're under 10k and appropriately priced, you're all good. 70s are HOT

What have you guys seen - the above is fact based on over 2000 known sales... (non Flea bay)

Thanks for the information, Kevin--I had a feeling that big amps & big cabs were big this year--my back has been giving me a lot of pain this last year...it's my bass amp barometer.
