The (Old School) Rock Room

Last weekend I had a gig in a room I've never played. The club has been around for many years under different ownership and names. I walked in and had immediate flashback to mid 80's. Yes, the old school 'rock room'. 80's vintage PA & lights: Big stage, dusty, dirty, worn out, nicotine caked, barely working gear with fugly cabling...those old, heavy, steel Par 64's mounted everywhere (1/2 of them not working)...beat up house mics...crusty soundman that shows up 15 minutes before you're supposed to start playing and first thing he does is orders a draft. Classic. I thought these rooms were extinct. I guess not. Nice trip down memory lane. Wish I took some pics.

About 25% of my gigs are still like that.
