the Thunderbucker Ranch - pickups

A choice, not an echo.

the Thunderbucker Ranch - pickups

My pair of '66 style Thunderbuckers arrived today for my Cataldo Fenderbird (they will replace the Duncan SSBs that came as standard). Steve and Mo make these look like a work of art - the presentation and packing is first class!

Haven't had time to install them in my Fenderbird yet - I've had lots of gigs and family stuff on my plate lately - maybe next weekend.

Anything to report yet Mark? Anxious to hear about 'em... thinking about picking up a newer T-Bird & chrome-ing it out with a set of these.

They're still sitting in the box, LOL - I've had gigs every weekend plus the usual family stuff so am waiting for an hour or so without the kids in the house so I can get these pickups installed [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif]

I love them, I had a 66 set but like the 63 tone a little better so the 66s are going to Shark in Germany.

I finally got around to installing these pups last night, and all went well. Initial review through headphone amp while adjusting pickup height is positive - looking forward to giving them a blast at volume through a rig in the next few days when I get a chance to crank it up.

Here's a clip of the 66 Thunderbuckers in my JAEbird - this is a VERY ROUGH incomplete mix of an upcoming song we're working on - the bass sounds great though. JAEbird > Cave Passive Pedals TVTR clean boost > Markbass TTE500 > DI out > Protools. Both pickups on full, tone control on around 1/4 turn. TTE500 EQ flat. No compression or post production at all.
