Admittedly I don't know Gibson, The closed back Japan tuners look odd.

The rather large serial numbers should be stamped above them.

Definetly not an EB0.
The tuners look correct, it's the serial that I'd look for.

There's this one on eBay-
Vintage Gibson Melody Maker Bass Guitar c.1968 USA
It's stamped.

Here's another one with a stamped number-

I blew his headstock shot up 500% and can't make out a clear stamp due to the glare
but there might be something there.
If you're thinkin' about buying, I'd ask for another shot with the stamp clear.

From what I've read, not all Gibsons were stamped, some were stickers
but there were also some great SE Asian counterfeits made back in the day though
(mine included I believe).
