Would it be OK if I refinned a Triumph in sunburst for you guys? I'm thinking about it.

What I really want to find is an OEM hardshell case or its equivalent for my Triumph. My case is about 75% duct tape at this point. There was a lovely-looking case on eBay last year, but bidding started at $200 and I did not have it to spare at that time.

I do have a nice Anvil flight case for it that I had made in 1973, but that case is too large for the trunk of my car, and actually weighs more than the bass itself.

I'm pretty sure the hard shell case Epiphone sells for the Allan Woody Signature bass works with a Triumph. A reliable friend of mine bought one and told me his Triumph fit in it in nicely. They're usually around $100 and pretty well made.

I should have followed this more so sorry for the late reply. I can say for 100% sure that a collector here in my hometown has a silverburst Les Paul Triumph bass. IT IS NOT A REFINISH. I am not sure of the year but I will email him to see if I can get some more info.

That's a beauty! The LP Triumph is a relatively rare bird anyway, and this Silver-burst finish has got to be rarer still. Thanks for tracking that down!

My old mahogany LP Triumph looks kind of boring compared to that, but it still sounds great to me.

Here's a recent photo of mine being played in a recording session by a senior citizen.

Im still not convinced it orig came out of the factory with that finish
A) It could be real, I would have to see it
B) It could be a really old and pro refin
C) It coulda went back to Gibson for a fin later on

No one i know has seen this color this early. Is it marked demo or special? What does the control cavity look like? Is there paint in the strap button holes?

I'm in Mississippi all the time (Oxford), so if the owner will ever let me see it, that would be cool. In fact, I'll be in Oxford tonight to start my four-day visit.
