Not generally a fan of boutique look basses, but on some of them (my Wal Mk 1 comes to mind) it just looks right. On this GoW satin fin Money bass (ironically I just ebayed one off Bizarre Guitars too), shape and look match perfectly. And I don't believe Harleyyy will be disappointed either, the walnut tone plate (= layer of wood between maho back and maple top) makes this bass all warm, fuzzy, growly and dense, very Gibsonesque and certainly denser than, say, a TBird would sound and not as sharp as, say, an LP Standard would bite.

If he doesn't like that sound [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif] he should be unceremoniously [smilie=action-smiley-047.gif] banned from this forum! [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

Though I have no Wals or Gibsons today, I did at one time and probably will again. So Uwe, we are all safe here for now. [smilie=icon_mrgreen.gif]

And now the Money Bass on the SDOTD...

I was under the impression that Harleyyy's stupid deal was a GoW LP Money not a GoW SG Supreme? When I checked on his link yesterday - there's a cymbal there now - I saw a Money bass, not an SG.

I just called MF and with my VIP 20% discount, I got one on its way to me for $719.99 delivered.

Knowing there discontinued, maybe a rarebird someday.

This will be my only short scale bass. I had the Gretsch Broadcaster, which I traded to Ampig
(Howard) some time ago. Did not like the Gretsch with its movable bridge and semi hollow howl.

I'll post photos when it arrives.

Hey Jimi,
I think the Gretsch may have wound up with Norris. Let us know how you like the SG.
