Been looking for a travel/flying bass. This looks kinda cool. Carry on Jazz?

Seen this too.
It's been showing up on my daily "Steinberger" search for a few weeks now.

Cool idea but boasts,
"- Real Steinberger bridge. Massive like a BadAss and the best tuners in the biz."
Welll...

These licence ones are a bit different in that they don't have intonation adjustment screws.
You lock/unlock an allen wrench on the side of the bridge that holds the saddles against the opposite side
(similar to a G&L saddle locking option?)
and then you have to manually slide the saddles into place one at a time.

I've done this on a few student's Spirits
and it's time consuming at best
and not entirely accurate nor easy at worst.

In his defense,
a real "Real Steinberger bridge" is getting more and more difficult to find
and expensive too.

Cool concept though if you are looking for an airplane travel bass!

*Edit- Everybody wants a Steinberger
and for $1,240 you could get one.
A real one.

For real....if only I looked as cool as you do with one. I do remember a guy playing one with the Nevilles and it sounded great.

Truth is I need and want a 5 string and may treat myself at the end of the year to a Lakland 5 String P. But dam A Steinberger makes more sense. Close to the same money.....

Common sense tells me that buying a "flying" bass, but only flying to gigs 3-4 times a year will make for a quick sell next time I have GAS. A flying bass would be terribly expendable if I wasn't attached to it emotionally.

Wish I still had mine... the bridge on my Steinberger was one of 200 made!
