Sabre lands at Owl Farm

Sabre lands at Owl Farm

Postby dukeplaysbass » Fri Sep 11, 2009 9:31 pm

I had a nice Sabre back in December for about a minute, a gorgeous white one that I needed to flip quickly in order to backfill a crater I made in my finances with a killer old Fender.

I picked up another Sabre last night, a 1991 I'm told. Natural over ash, maple neck, strung with TI Flats.

Anybody else got flats on their Sabre? I'm tempted to leave these for a while and see if I fall in love this time....

Boy, Sabres sure are consistent in weight! That's among the lightest I've heard of, congratulations. How does it sound compared to the white one you had? Let me know if you decide to let it go.

You know, I really only had that white one for a few days, and it had rounds. This one seems to have a much more heavy sound, but that might be the flats. I think I'm going to put on some rounds tomorrow just to see...

Brad, I'll give you a shout if I decide to move it.

Congrats, Tris!

There's one Sabre sold locally by an old jazzman. He calls it "something that looks licke a Czech Jazz-Bass" [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif]
I'm going to check it out next week....
