Anyone Wireless?

Anyone Wireless?

Postby ReneGiust » Fri Jun 06, 2008 8:22 am

I'm thinking of getting another wireless unit again. I'm not going back to Shure. I had an expensive Shure system that definitely effected tone in a bad way. Anyone own the X2 system?

The X-2 rocks. I tested it quite a bit at NAMM 2 years ago and The Maidens started using them and love 'em.

Don't notice any degredation in sound at all. If anything at NAMM, using headphones, the X-2 was a tad brighter than the corded sound. Sara thought wired was a bit warmer but not enough to give up the freedom of wireless.

I bought a Nady VHS201 last year for $30. Seems to work fine for reggae, but my sound is so muddy for that band that I wouldn't notice signal degredation...

I got the X2 2 years ago and it has never had a glitch! I love the thing and use it every weekend..

Vintage Fender basses and 70's SVT's that about sums it up for me.

I think I'll try mine with the Buddy Roach Trio next time, it's been a while since I used it. The mixed-bag agenda and clearer tones used will tell about any signal loss I suppose. The one thing I really like about it is the fact I can walk out front and hear the mix.

The idea is very appealing to me however all the units Ive tried did weird things to tone. With this being said, I havent tried this "X2" unit that some of the guys are using with good results - seems worth checking one out.
